Geotextile membranes are large sheets of fabric that are available to purchase from Drainage365 and come in the form of Woven or Non Woven, each having different qualities and uses. They are mainly used in drainage functions such as ground engineering projects and a multitude of drainage applications. In construction these fabrics ensure seperation of stone and soil materials and stabilize trafficked minor, major and temporary roadways. They also provide stable and level surfaces in equestrian arenas and act as effective weed barriers in domestic gardens and within agriculture.
At Drainage365 we can provide Woven Geotextile Fabrics and Non Woven Geotextile Fabrics in different sizes from rolls ranging from 2.2 Metre x 10 Metre to 4.5 Metre x 100 Metre. Click here to find more information on our range and sizes.
We also stock the Ekotex 6 Non Woven Geotextile which is found within our store.
Non Woven Geotextile membranes are made from strong and highly puncture resistant fabric. They tend not to be as stiff as the Woven membranes although the uses of both are fairly similar. Non Woven Geotextile is exceptionally permeable and UV stable to allow water to penetrate whilst keeping the ground above free from vehicle tracks and weeks and keeping the fine particles of soil out.
Woven Geotextiles have a higher load rating than the Non-Woven because of the extra strength they carry. They are manufactured using extruded polypropylene tapes. Their design has created a geotextile that combines high tensile strength with excellent puncture resistance giving outstanding performance and longevity. Woven Geotextile fabrics are made on large industrial looms that interlace horizontal and vertical threads to form a tight criss cross or mesh. They are often used on long lasting construction projects such as building a new runway roadbed or railway construction. They can also used as a base layer in private equestrian arenas .At Drainage65 we can also offer 2 metre x 50 metre Rhyno GW8118 or 4.5 Metre x 100 Metre Rhyno GW8118.
